Hancock Offers Short-Term Spring Classes

MARCH 21, 2022 -- Allan Hancock College is encouraging students to earn additional college credits by enrolling in short-term spring classes starting March 28.
Registration is underway for short-term fall classes in English, sociology, art, business, history, film, dance and more. Many of the classes are offered online and can be completed in just eight weeks. The short-term class offerings also include classes that meet only once and others that meet on the weekends.
This spring’s short-term classes include a blacksmithing class (WLDT 319), where students will learn the art of blacksmithing and work on a variety of projects. Viticulture and enology offerings include classes in advanced wine evaluation (VEN104) and progressive food and wine paring (VEN302).
Many of Hancock’s short-term fall classes meet the general education requirements for students attending the University of California Santa Barbara and Cal Poly, SLO. UCSB students can view a list of open classes at http://bit.ly/shorttermUCSB. Cal Poly students can view a list of eligible classes at http://bit.ly/ahccalpoly.
Students taking short-term classes can earn between 0.5 and 3 units depending on the class. Registration is now open and continues until the day before a class starts. Earning additional credits through these classes can help Hancock students complete their degrees and certificates and get them closer to graduation, transfer, or completing the training they need to enter the workforce.
